the year of the Greenery

the year of the Greenery

Pantone has released the top 10 colours for spring 2017

So far their 'colour of the year' predictions have been pretty spot on.
Remember 2016 when they named ‘rose quartz
’ (a light, pastel pink) and 'serenity' (a baby blue) as the colours of the year? They were all over the place, Instagram and Pinterest just bathed in these hues: from soft velvet sofas to pastel bathrooms.

This year, the list features plenty of muted, earthy tones including Kale, Hazelnut and Pale Dogwood. Like!
But to be honest, it's Primrose Yellow that stole my heart! This colour becomes even more dazzling combined with Lapis Blue and Niagara.
Niagara...yes! Speechless! These are exactly the colours that make me longing for spring!

GREENERY IT IS!

'Greenery' or more specifically, Pantone 15-0343 has been chosen as the colour of the year for 2017!

Honestly, it doesn't really sweep me of my feet. Last years Rose Quartz did! Immediately i could imagine interiors with soft pink details, pastel pink tiles, even pink furniture. But 2017's greenery ...not feeling it (yet).
Anyway, since this is the tone that will guide trends for the year ahead, we'll soon get used to it.
Expect to see it popping up everywhere in the months to come, from interior design to fashion. In bars, restaurants, stores and hotels.

By the way, did you know this yearly winner is selected two years in advance?
Two years! Where can we find ourselves a Pantone trend forecaster?

Here are some moodboards that i've made, to show you how versatile the shades are and how easy it is to make beautiful colour combinations!
